WhatGreetings, can someone help me with a question regarding the grade of oil that I should use, I rebuilt an ls vtec with acl racing bearings. put a mechanical bosch oil pressure gauge from ebay, use mineral oil 10-30 for the first 500 kilometers, then I did his first change and used honda oil filter and full synthetic castrol oil 10-30. when starting the vehicle the psi goes to 80psi then when it starts to reach its working temperature 86 -88celsius it drops to 10psi even sometimes below 10 maybe it is 8, 3000 rev it is at 40-42. when I did the running-in I don't remember how much it was at 3 thousand rev but at idle it was the same at 10 psi. reading the manual it should be close to 10 minimum and 3000 to 50 minimum. In the image it is at what I consider to be 11 psi when I have been riding for a while and I brake at the traffic light below that line a little, which is when I say that it reaches 8-9 psi. Will changing to 10-40 make any difference? When you activate vtec at 4700 it is at 55psi. Approx. It should be noted that where I live the ambient temperature is 87F, I use 2 rows of radiators. I have p72-00 pistons below b18a2 chamber b16a pr3.

If VTEC works all of the time, I wouldn't change a thing. If VTEC fails to function reliably once the engine is warmed, a thicker oil is only a temporary fix. Your engine oil clearances are too large and you are losing oil pressure through the crankshaft mains and rods. A rebuild would be required.
