Hello everyone.. don't mind my username too much I used a random username generator because I lack creativy.. Alrighty..
Back in April I picked up a 2002 Honda Accord Coupe with the j30a1 V6 and AT 4-speed B7XA trans.
I'm a little late to the Honda "scene", since I've had my driver's license I have only owned domestic vehicles and one Toyota Camry. But now I am truly in love with this vehicle.
I constantly find myself thinking man, the designers really hit it out of the park with this car.
It is a perfect blend of power, nimbleness, style, comfort and an all around FUN car to drive.
I am trying to get this thing thing into shape so I don't need a car payment for a few years. I just put in a new timing belt, tensioner pulley, hydraulic tensioner and water pump.
She will eventually need a new trans so that is going to be a mission.
But I joined this forum just to be able to talk to like-minded individuals that like the same things I like and have experience working on Honda's and especially Accords. So I will probably ask more than a couple of questions in the forum sections.
I'm originally from California and currently living in Utah and in 2 months I will be moving to Houston for school.
I feel ya bud, my first day in group today! I’ve built Harley’s and a few classic cars, never had as much fun as I am now with my 99 Civic Hatchback though!
My boy is 13 so we’re getting this thing dialed in for his first car. Sure helps I’m getting 27mpg while doing it (truck gets 9mpg 🤦♂️). I’ve spun all the wrenches to be spun thus far but just got me a new used trans and thinking nah not doing that one myself. I did however get into my SRS system. Guy I bought it from had a piece of electrical tape over the light and I didn’t see it 🤦♂️ I managed to fix my passenger airbag but now I have a code on drivers airbag inflator saying short to ground. I have zero clue how to chase that gremlin. Man I’m hoping joining this group helps!
