Default Overheating

Hi Forum,

I have a 2018 Honda Accord Touring 1.5T. I have been experiencing overheating issues over the last couple of months. I have to be putting coolant in like every 2 months.

Mechanic did the pressure and it shows its losing pressure; however, can't locate where. Any suggestions??

Considering your other post sounds like you blew a headgasket. Burning white smoke? When motor cools, remove radiator cap and see if bubbles come up continuously. If so then classic headgasket. You can pull and inspect plugs to determine which cylinders are leading if its leaking into the cylinder. Also drain your oil to see if you have "milkshake" in the oil. When water/coolant mix with oil it makes a nasty milkshake appearance.

Hey..thanks for this response. I will look into it. The thing though, when the overheating occurs, my coolant is extremely low so i can't check to see if it bubbles up and it takes most a gallon to refill. Sometimes I start the car and I can hear fluid (thinking this is coolant) gushing from inside the cabin.
Check my other post about loss of power and let me know if you think that is caused by this overheating issue.

Overheating can cause a slew of problems that will result in reduced performance. Knocking is one, this is due to excessive heat or hot spots in the combustion chamber causing predestination. Your misfires in the multiple cylinders could be direct results of detonation.
