I have 91 crx ef with a 95 high output motor ..I bought likebthis and the rear k frame is broke on the drivers side ..im not much of a mechanic but im a fast learner lol and I have resources if need be ..Im wondering the best way to fix this issue and get it on the road ..any suggestions would be appreciated
Too late for a refund? That repair is going to be well beyond the scope of a novice.
That whole rear assembly needs to be cut off an a new one welded back in place assuming the rest of the unibody isn't also rotted out.
I only have 900 in it ...and I do have guys thst can weld very well ...do they bolt on replacements and i seen on ebay tgst they make brackets that go on the ends on the uni body then put a stablizer on it
It shouldn't be that hard to replace it. If your good with aligning things, taking measurements.. go to the wreckers and find another crx or hb and drill out all the spot welds using a drill bit meant for spot welds or use a bunch of good ones that are a bit bigger in diameter than the spot weld and on your car, only drill through the beam and not through your floor on your car. Only unbolt the trailing arms bolts (leaving the rest of the trailing arm all bolted in) from the bad subframe. Mark a center line under the car behind (rear side) of the subframe between the bolt hole locations for the LCA's, draw a center line on your new subframe. With your old one off and new one ready, it should almost guide itself into place under the body in the same location when you hold it in place but have a jack or something to hold it up. Bolt on the trailing arms to the subframe, then align your center point and start plug welding. Should be pretty darn close as stock once done.
kinda worded off but you should have a pretty good idea..
high output motor.. looks like a stock d series..

I greatly appreciate the help ...im gonna be taking a back seat in this one and just watch thru a welding mask for the .most part lol...the motor was replaced with a high output motor before I got my hands on it ...it starts and runs like a Dream tbh ..thats the .ain reason I bought it ..I knew the guy that had it before me and knew how he kept it until he wrecked it lol..for the price I think I did good on it ..and again thank you ill keep u posted on my journey to fix it ..
You wanted to see my little beast? At the fathers day car show that I made it to just in time! At 2022 bc crx meet, someone made a short YouTube video for the meet (not me standing there in the pic) can kinda see my gas cap door I did too with another skull Just put the old wheels on and ready to fire up for its first time with years of dust on it!
After i welded in new quater panels, made new rocker panels at work and finished all the body work I finally got it painted with nighthawk black, I built my GSR block, b16head, b16 lsd tranny and did almost all the custom work for my turbo setup. Got the interior to a 9/10 cond. with near mint oem seats. Finally enjoying the car after its long time sitting on jackstands and dealing with my little rug rats picking at it for hours each night. I'm the only one in my city with a crx.
