Default Vapor barrier

For any are wanting to restore the vapor barrier in their doors, I found that a cheapo $5 shower curtain liner from Walmart works great, or any plastic with decent weight would work. As for adhesive, for about $7, Home Depot roofing department sells a roll of butyl rubber tape. That is the sealant/adhesive originally used by the Honda factory. Removing the old butyl is a bit tedious, but I was able to crack, peel and roll it off of there in pretty good sized chunks. Even that which has completely hardened can be removed. I'm sure there are better ways, but I wanted to keep the job inexpensive.

Default Re: Vapor barrier

I replace the vapor barrier with mass loaded vinyl. Doubles as sound barrier. Down side is the weight at 2lbs per square foot.
