I have 95 Honda Accord and recently Fuel gauge stopped working, I noticed after i cleaned engine compartment, I have checked all fuses and they where good, checked sending unit itself with meter and it was good giving variable reading with float movement and that float has free movement, checked for voltage at sending unit and have none, i assume that when i sprayed engine compartment out, water got into connection somewhere and fried the connection, i have looked at connections under hood and see nothing obvious, I have looked online for a wiring diagram with fuel gauge and sending unit to check connections along that line and have found nothing helpful enough, does anyone have this diagram or have any advise on this issue?
So assuming your sending unit is good, the power source to it is faulty since you tested it and had no power, was this done with the key "on". Does the engine run? If not, check the ground that grounds both fuel pump and sending unit. If it does run, try to trace the power wire at the sending unit to it's other end to find out what it's being fed power from. With the key in the "on" position, have a multimeter handy and find that dead spot. Mostly all the wires on the car have a unique coding on them (eg. Blue/red strip or grey/yellow stripe) you should be able to find it by just poking around. Also just go over all ground wire connections off the harness in the engine bay making sure they're clean and good. Good luck, I hate electrical problems A pic i found..

Thanks Maxcapacity for the response, It started working the fuel gauge and speedometer which i didn't mention the speedometer when i started this tread, I'm thinking there was water causing a short, but wasn't enough to blow fuse, water must've dried out and short went away.
