I have some wiring that fell from under the dashboard that's behind the steering wheel. So i took the panel off below to see where the wiring is supposed to go. And there is a circular part with a sticky behind it that's attached to the wiring. Does anyone know where the wiring is supposed to go and how I should reattach it? Thanks. opened the panel under the steering wheel
The photos are out of focus; but, appears to be an aftermarket security/alarm system. May even be a GPS tracker, take more focused photos of that black box, etc. Also if you can see any labels, other lettering on it.
Do you have an aftermarket key fob for it? If so, that oval piece may be an antennae. I would think best reception with an antennae would be to adhere it to the windshield. However, since you probably never saw it before until it dropped out, it likely was stuck under the dash area. You probably could just tape it back under the dash cover with some double sided tape or regular tape over it.

Oh, yes, now that you mentioned it, I do have a fob which I haven't used since I got my car 15 years ago. And that thing in my pic looks like a fob. The wiring was hanging out and I didn't want my feet or leg to run into it so I opened up the panel and the fob and the wiring came out. I'll tape it up and hope it sticks under my dash. Thanks.
