Intermittent No start [1995 Honda Accord LX 2.2 4 cylinder]
Alright before anyone goes “ANOTHER ONE”, I have read through a lot of threads with similar issues and rarely is there a solution to this issue or if they is a fix for them did not work for me. So here i go.
My car does that lovely thing where when you turn it to the “ON” position you see all your lights come on and you hear the clicks from the main relay but no priming of the fuel pump. Well you sit and wait for a few seconds/minutes, it kick on and CEL goes out and starts no issue and its smooth sailing. Other times you wait and wait and wait and it just never kicks on and then the D4 light just flashes, not really sure why thats happening. Maybe someone will educate me. Anyway I digress, Now onto what i have done. Im
going to first say, Im and idiot and threw money at it initially and im done with that.
Replaced ECU (My original board had burnt spots on it so likely part of my issue)
Replaced Main relay (have since tested it and its good)
Replaced Fuel Pump
Replaced the distributor (mainly because my original ECU was spitting Code 9 until I replaced it with the new ECU. Which I thought was originally causing all this, WRONG)
And
Checked all relays and fuses
Got frustrated and took it to Honda dealership, because they’re the experts right? Wrong all i got was “it might be the distributor… or some wiring but its going to cost you so i dont recommended it”
So after replacing all those parts im thinking he may be right about the wiring
I have never been one to be great with electrical work so bare with me and explain like Im 5 if your explaining how to do anything with it.
so im pleading anyone with any insight or can walk me though some diagnostics with the wiring. Im not ready to give up on it cause once its fixed it runs like a
champ!
so with all that what you got?

Every figure out this issue? A friend has the exact car and I found code 9 in the ECU. Pulled the ECU and it had burnt capacitors. Soldered new capicitors and all was well for about a month with the same issues you were having. Replaced the main relay since it's inexpensive top rule it out.
Only thing it is not doing that you described is the D4 light is not flashing.

its not my everyday driver anymore but i started it up (when it would) 3-4 times a week and it still ended up dead. Idk if i really wanna pursue it any longer or not.
