Default 94 Del Sol with a 2018 engine

As a new owner of a 94 Del Sol S, firstly I'd like to mention I plan for this car to be my life long car. 2ndly would it be possible to swap in a 2018 Civic Si engine into this? I'm from California so would this pass BAR?

Appreciate any help, I had a 2018 honda civic hatch sport and liked it with the small turbo, nothing too crazy for me and it was fun. I was wondering if I could just swap one in.

I don't know much about passing emissions in California, but my general understanding is that newer engines built to more strict regulations are more likely to be "OK"

If I were serious about this setup I would move...

Can it be done and pass bar? Yes, absolutely. Can it be done for less than the price of a new Civic Si? Nope!

Sure but taking into consideration how OP asked this question, it doesn't sound like he understands the scope of the task and I don't think they have the ability to do even the physical part of installation.

I agree that the OP or anyone just getting started in this hobby should keep the scope and scale of projects small to avoid discouragement.

My reply was really for the lurkers and googlers who find this title in their search results and have the skills, tools and budget to do this. there is genuine tech in this topic that would probably make for an interesting thread for someone even if that someone is not the OP.

I agree with everything you've said, however the users with those skills you mention would probably already know whether it's possible. My reply was based on the lack of effort on the OPs part. It's really tiring to see the 'gee I wonder' threads that get posted when they could literally type a few things into Google in less than a minute and find the l15b7 swaps in eg/ek/dc.

My answer is still no, OP cannot complete the swap.
