Air Conditioner Issue - 2003 CRV
I have a 2003 CRV with almost 170K miles. I have an issue when I turn on the A/C with the fan, very little cold air is flowing through when the car is still. It is when the car is moving, the cold air starts to come through. I had the mechanic refill the freon and have at one point replaced the relay to the compressor clutch which I can see it is moving when the car is on. Could the problem be with the A/C blower or perhaps the mechanic did not fill up the freon correctly?
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
I tried adding freon in our 04 Element.
I verified the AC clutch was engaging, fans turned on...but air never got cold.
Our issue ended up being the AC compressor.
One thing I noticed when I was adding freon, the low-side pressure only increased.
It's my understanding, the AC compressor pumps freon from the low-side into the high-side (low-side pressure goes down during this process).
This is why professional AC setups have gauges to monitor both low and high pressure circuits.
Here are a couple of links that describe how AC systems work.
