Man, I hope I can get some help from yall!. I am trying to finish up this rebuilt/upgrade. I am to the point of putting the wire harness back into the car. Since I put a y8 head on to my d16y5 block, i bought a p2p-a12 ECU, since i will be running true V-tec. I also bought a used wire harness out of a 2000 civic EX to help with this install. Now it seems i am missing plugs on the "new harness" that were on the old harness, "new wire harness" doesn't fit in old ECU. Losing my stuff here. I attached some photos that I hope can help yall help me figure this out.

That P2P looks like it’s OBD2A

 

are you sure you have a dx, or is it an hx? look at the title

 

Pretty sure the only body style that is the hatchback is the DX. Is that wrong?

 

Ok here is what I am looking to do, I would like to use the original wire harness (OBD2a) and try to get a conversion to the ECU P2P-a12 (OBD2b). Does anyone know why i can't find a convertor to go OBD2a to OBD2b??

 

2000 dx is obd2b...what is your model? check the title of your car.

 

checked the vin and it is in fact a 2000 civic dx, and it has OBD2a. Not OBD2b. So I dont know what the flip is going on.

 

civic came with the y5?

 

there should only be 3 plugs total, for a 5spd. The third one is in your car where the ecu rest.

 

The ex harness has the secondary o2 sensor on the cabin harness vs the dx which has it on a the motor harness. The other is the iat sensor which is on the intake side vs. the intake manifold on the dx harness. I have no clue why your hatch would have obd2a . You are going to have to wire in the secondary o2 or get the cabin harness and the o2 sub harness to use the ex harness without an code for the secondary o2.

 

Details from the PO would help solve this. I have a feeling the PO pulled most of the wiring from an hx to run the y5.
