Icon4 Honda Element JDM Swap Issues - Please help! Sensor Problem??

Hey guys we just swapped out the engine on my 2005 Element manual trans with JDM K24A. It appeared to be a direct swap, but there wasn't any clear information on which sensors or solenoids may need to be swapped over. It fired right up and idles great, but getting errors and the E is going into limp mode after driving for a bit. Getting Errors P0325 and P2646. We changed out the knock sensor to no avail, although the P0325 code may take time to clear in ECU.

My question is do we need to transfer literally ALL sensors and solenoids from the US engine to the JDM for this thing to work correctly with the US ECU or just a specific few? Many thanks in advance for the assistance! I hope this thread will help others running into similar issues after a JDM swap.

I am fairly sure the JDM engines don't have a VTEC oil pressure sensor. You could swap your USDM VTEC solenoid to the JDM engine and get the missing sensor.

Make sure the knock sensor is torqued correctly. It has a very specific torque to function correctly. Also could just be bad sensors. They are sensitive on the Elements. NTK makes an excellent quality aftermarket sensor.

Thank you for the reply Ryan!

Is the oil pressure sensor inside of the Vtec Solenoid on the US version? I looked on the US engine and there appears to be an oil pressure switch below the VTEC solenoid housing. Switch, Oil Pressure (Denso) - Honda (37240-PT0-014)

I will double check the torque on the knock sensor.

Pressure switch is on the VTEC solenoid assembly bolted to the head. Should be two plugs next to each other. One is the solenoid and the other is the pressure sensor.

Replaced the VTEC solenoid and no more limp mode! Thanks Ryan!

Checked Knock Sensor torque and was good. Still throwing code. Swapped back to OEM knock and no dice, still coding. Found knock error clearing procedure in AllData, going to try that.
