2001 CR-V, Aftermarket Resonator-Pipe B & muffler flange don't fit
Due catalytic converter theft, I recently had my exhaust system replaced. Installed new OEM Pipe A, Magnaflow OEM Converter,(#51329, Denso rear O2 sensor, #234-4098, and Walker resonator pipe, #48321. The problem is that the joint between the Walker Pipe B and the original muffler have no gap between them. The Walker pipe end flange does not have the collar rim that the OEM pipe end flange has. See photo with green arrow, of my removed original Pipe B. This is causing the two flanges to touch, and causing a rattle, especially with acceleration, or idling. Walker's website says this pipe features OEM style hardware, flanges, brackets, etc. However we have found that the flange is not an exact match. Here are photos of what mine looks like now, post-repair. You can see that there is absolutely no gap. The shop did not replace the gasket or springs/hardware. So we bought OEM set of close up of flanges, old hardware
parts online (nuts, flexible U bolts, springs, gasket) and installed them. However it did not help. See the photo with the joint between the new Pipe A and the catalytic converter - it shows the springs very compressed (those are new hardware/gasket). You can see there is a space between the two flanges. Does anyone have any photos of their Gen. 1 CR-V that you could post, of your car's Pipe B to Muffler joint? I'd like to see what it's supposed to actually look like. fitting new OEM parts & gasket
