Crank bearing confusion
Hey, pulling apart my old bottom end (b18b1) and while the crank is beautiful, the bearings are questionable. This thing sat for 6 years. Worked well before. Just trying to replace the bearings. Is a standard size OEM fine if I’m not going to mess with the crank in any other way?
They all have separate number/letter combinations on each bearing so I’m unsure how to proceed. For example: 3F28D and 3F29C.
if someone asks “Why did you pull apart a perfectly fine bottom end?” Just to make sure. It sat for so long and my husband beat the breaks off of it before the car was scraped and motor pulled. Initial plan was ls/vtec build but finances aren’t there to finish that, so slapping both ends back together and just freshening her up for longevity.

The bearings are color coded, and you can figure out the factory color combination based on the markings on the block and crankshaft, then just order the same bearings. The factory colors should be darn close to perfect but its always good to measure to be sure. A bore gauge is ideal but plastigage is okay as a sanity check.
