Hey all, I'm new here but i have been lurking since i got my 98 4cyl accord i named the McNasty Deluxe.
I have had a sporadic issue of the car turning off when driving, it happened once the first day i got it 3 weeks ago and it happened twice today randomly. I was unable to recreate the issue when i was doordashing.
Today i was able to recreate the issue, it seems that when i start accelerating while turning my wheel slightly to the right the car will shut off and the dash will light up like a christmas tree.
The mechanic is telling me its my fuel pump, my neighbor is telling me it is because i have a pin hole gas leak (fuel line is on the way dont worry, it doesnt even leak all that bad maybe 1/2 gal since i got it) and air is getting trapped, and auto zone said its a grounding issue...
Now, what I noticed is my car was never serviced under the ignition recall. Do y'all think replacing the ignition switch will help my case?
I cannot reply often between my day job and my side hustle, but i will try to reply often tonight.
Sounds most likely the ignition.. try wiggling/slightly turning the key with the engine running and if she shuts down then there ya go.. I've had the same problem too before and that was the cause. Simple fix, easy to replace..

Assuming your ride's VIN is affected by the 1997-99 Honda Ignition Switch Safety Recall (NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 02V-120), get it resolved ASAP.
All it costs is time at a stealership. I ignored said recall our '99 untl it stopped on a freeway at 65+ MPH...
