I saw an ad on Facebook for a 205 45 17 rims. I don't know what is the brand of the wheels.
Will it fit my 2004 civic 4 door Ex? It is currently on stock at 185 65 14. I wanted to get a bit more width on the tire as I commute a lot. Will the new wheels rub against the frame?
how to upgrade to 205mm from 185mm, civic 2004 stock
what is the cheapest way to upgrade to a 205 width? New wheels? Or just new tires? Or buy stock wheels with tires of other cars from FB/kijiji?
I currently have 185 65 14 (4x100) stock wheels on my civic 2004 ex.
I use the car heavily for commute and i figured moving to a 205mm will help with better stability.
You need 205/40R17 tires... they are the same size as your factory wheel/tire package. The 205/45R17's are 3/4" taller than your stock wheels/tires and thus will affect your speedometer and potentially cause issue with your ABS system. It is also quite likely that your tires will rub.

There is no reason to make TWO threads for this topic rookie... wasting bandwidth will not endear veteran members to come to your aid. I suggest you ask a MOD to merge this thread with your other one.
205/60R14 tires will be slightly less than 1/4" taller than your original 185/65R14 tires... likely fine IF you purchase a wider set of 14" wheels. Squeezing 205's on to your original wheels will cause improper wear because the wheel is too narrow and the sidewalls will be ballooned. This size is uncommon and 14" wheels will be limited as well.
