Trying to keep this simple yet concise. 2000 accord, 4 cyl, manual. It overheated, replaced thermostat and radiator cap. Still hot and I suspected water pump due to new metallic low rpm noise. Replaced water pump. Set timing in accordance with the Honda repair manual and a couple of YouTube videos. Start engine, runs at 1k for a very short time then jumps to 4k. Reset timing two more times. Immediately runs up to 4k. Code for crankshaft sensor popped.
What is causing this?
