hello everyone. has anyone seen specifics on wiring for using the 90,91 taillights on a 88,89? did about as much searching as possible and didn't find anything.

 

Aren't the plugs the only difference.. just cut them off or de-pin them and swap the plugs.

 

that is what im not sure about. there are two bulbs on the 90,91. im not sure the behavior of these bulbs compared to the 88,89. harness is different. looks like the wires are basically the same only difference is one green/yellow is green/blue on the other. gonna check if the housing fits in the same. that extra bulb may obstruct. the single brake light on the 88,89 is a double filiment as well the 90,91 both brake bulbs are also double filiment so you would imagine it should be no difference in behavior.

 

the housing is different. the bulb and the wiring anchor point are both much different placement and won't function interchangeably . you will have to remove or alter metal to make it sit in there. the seal from the 88, 89 is laid over the 90,91 you can see the plug on the second bulb is obstructed thats basically metal on the body fitment. no good
