2013 Civic EX-L Slow Acceleration / Lag
I wanted to get some ideas as to what may be causing a very noticeable acceleration lag on my 2013 Civic EX-L (Automatic Trans).
The car has 140k and has always been maintained properly ( Honda Motor Co. Employee Here) but noticed that the car has a very significant lag at acceleration, almost like a spongy feeling in the accelerator and feels as if there were a block in the air intake or something. I have looked up various videos on youtube about others with similar issues and most have said their intake hoses were cracked hence air was leaking from it and caused the lag in acceleration, well I have inspected mine and it is in perfect shape. I do not have a CEL or any other issue with the car so it is more like a bothersome situation rather than a very serious one I think.
I mostly drive it on ECON mode but feel the lag is far more than the ECON mode being engaged as I have driven similar civics with ECON mode on and their throttle response does not lag as much as mine. I have done a full tune up and used the NGK-R Platinum plugs rather than the IRIDIUMS because they were not available at the time, could this be a possible culprit? Also, is there a way to check the ignition coil's life or efficiency?
Appreciate any feedback on the matter.
