Icon6 Paint Tips

I planning on painting my DC2 in either white or silver, think white is an easy color not to mess up.

1. My hood I painted with spray paint and its now trying to chip off. Do I need to sand it down to the primer or bare metal before trying to spray it with a real gun?

2. The roof clear coat was fading so I sanded it down to primer and metal in some areas and spray painted with DupliColor Custom wrap. Do I need to remove this if I want to use real paint?

3. Was thinking of trying use a quart of DupliColor Custom wrap since there's no mixing involved I read. The can says use over 10 coats of this stuff is that really necessary?

Not trying to make it a show car but would like to paint it as well as possible as I do not have garage and painting well be outside. Do plan on getting a LPHV spray gun from harbor freight though.
