How to know if service check connector has been jumped succesfully on 1990 integra?
So I’ve done my first ignition timing adjustment, it was off by 2° So I advance the timing to have it sit at 16°. I did this after I jumped the service check connector with paperclip, but I’m not sure if it’s jumped since in other group they’re saying the CEL should come on solid but mine didn’t come on. Ignition timing was done with idle at 750rpm and operating temp which I waited for fans to come on atleast twice. Any help would be appreciated!
Do not have your model year but when I've done it in the past the light flashes either long or short or a combination of both in order to give you a double digit OBD I code.
You count the flashes like 1 long flash and 2 short flashes would be code 12.

OP is referring to jumping the service connector so that the ECU does not adjust the timing after the ignition timing is set. This is part of the procedure when setting the ignition timing on the engine using a timing light.

So you would adjust the timing with slightly rotating the dizzy but if you do not jump out the service connector the computer MAY adjust the spark advance or retard through when the computer tells the plugs to fire?
Even if the dizzy was set and not moved?

Honda Civic: How to Adjust Ignition Timing | Honda-tech
Step 1 – Short service connector and connect timing light
The service connector is located on the passenger side. It is underneath the glove box by the kick panel. It's the same connector used to read check engine lights. You need to disconnect it and put a small wire connecting both sides of the connector in order to short it. You want to do this so the computer doesn't try adjusting after you do your own adjustments. Next, connect the timing light; do so by connecting the positive connection to the positive battery terminal and the negative connection to the negative battery terminal. Then, connect the clip to the first spark plug wire.Thread
