Default Stuck transmission fill plug

Heya, so pretty much the title. I have an 89 Honda crx si 1.6, I just did a few bearing replacements in my transmission and I'm not able to remove the fill plug in order to, well, fill it. Is there any other location on this transmission that I can fill it? Would I be able to fill it from one of the cv slots?

Thanks for any help given!

Remove the speedometer gear and fill it from there

A 6pt 17mm closed box end wrench and a leg press will get it unstuck. It's very commonly stubborn. Just do it right.

You need the fill bolt open to know exactly when it's full.

yes. Just add the refill capacity or measure what you removed. You don't need the fill bolt to tell you how much to fill. That fill bolt is a pain

I was able to get the dang thing off with a pipe wrench and a whole lot of effort, but she's filled and running great now 😁
Thanks for the replies!

I filled mine through the cv axle. I couldn’t remove the fill plug to save my life. I gave up and removed the passenger axle and fill it through there. Just another option.

Who is tightening these fill plugs? Mines barely snug, but I check a couple times a year…
