Default B16A1 stalls immediately after starting. Main Relay?

Recently when my civic with an obd0 b16a1 is warmed up and I turn it off and turn the key to prime the fuel pump I only hear it prime sometimes.
The cel lights up for 2 seconds even if i can't hear the pump prime. Does the fuel pump not prime if there's enough pressure in the fuel rail?
Then it seems to only start if I hear the pump prime first and when it does start, it immediately stalls.
I have to press the gas just as it's starting so it revs up abit and only then it will idle and not stall.
Then it drives and idles normally. Could this maybe be the main relay?

sounds to me like you need to

one= do a main relay test and see why it only turns your pump on sometimes

and two= do a fuel pressure test and see if the system itself it where its supposed to be

honestly thou if the car starts and stays running odds are that your main relay is fine
it could be as simple as a dirty connection on the main relay plug

if you would like to know how to do a main relay test or the fuel pressure test just let me know

and good luck ^_-
