Bogart's or lenso's as street rims?
Me and my friend were talking about traction issues on my setup. After a while I was getting frustrated and said, damn I wish I could just run slicks on the street. Obviously i'm not but an interesting topic came up. Why not use bogarts or lenso's on the steet with some good drag radials? I know it saids not for road use but why not? Are they too weak for the street? It would be great, using a nice wide tire and not worry to much about rubbing the inner fenderwell. What do you guys think?
I don't know about lenso's but the bogart would be bent to $hit by the first pot hole or decent size bump you hit, they are way to soft.
I've been wondering the same thing. Surely with a light *** hatch they would be OK. I have 205/60 x 13 A032 Yokohama's that would be perfect for lenso's

i guess since somebody already said the bogarts would go, don't use them. And have you ever felt a lenso, it feels like you could bend them with your hands. Very light weight, but i'm sure if you hit a bump at any speed, they'd be done.
My roommate has ran on his Weld Import drag wheels with slicks on the street. I'd say he did about 10 nights of street racing and they are not bent at all. He says he even hit a curb running from the cops as well.
the lenso;s do fit with some kumho 205/50/13's the Lenso's are used often in autox. check the autox forum. some have used this setup before. I have sold them as well(a set of 4 for street use)
I'd rather run 13x8 TE-37's on the front with like 15x5's on the rear. Can anybody get TE-37's in 15x3.5 to use as skinnies? The TE-37's are nearly as light as the Bogarts, but they'll hold up under street use.
If you are having traction probs. then you don't want to go to a lighter rim on the street, unless you have true slicks. Then it would handle like Krispy Kream Donuts in the snow.
