A/C wiring issues at compressor relay on '96 4-Cyl
Short question: Is there any connector or split between the engine bay and interior where I could easily test for a break in the white 12v wire for the A/C compressor clutch wiring harness? Both my radiator and condenser fans are running, and the car idles up. But, there is no 12 on the white wire going to the compressor clutch relay. Both relays test good, and there is 12v on the white wire in the adjacent condenser fan section of the harness.
All the details: I've got a 4-cyl 1996 Accord with a strange wiring fault in the AC system. At present, when the HVAC fan is on and A/C switch is depressed the condenser fan and radiator engage and begin to spin but the compressor doesn't kick on. Both relays tested as good, and after some diagnosis work it seems like the white wire in section of the harness that goes to the compressor clutch relay isn't getting 12v. The other part of the harness that goes to the compressor relay tests good, and has 12V where it is supposed to on the same white wire. According to the service manual's wiring diagrams both wires should be connected to the same source of power (Fuse 34), by a split just before as the radiator fan control module. I tested for continuity between the module and fuse 34, and it is good too, and that makes sense given the radiator fans are working as they should. Is there any connector or split between the engine bay and interior that I missed where I could easily test continuity for the broken wire in the harness? I'm trying to find where exactly the break is, so that I can mend it with either a proper solder joint or fresh wire. The wiring under the fender in the wheel well also looks to be in what is basically pristine condition as well, so I'd rather test at a plug or connector in the harness to avoid disturbing things or inadvertently creating any issues if possible.
