On the cars factory harness, i am trying to locate SWC Key 1 and 2 to enable the steering wheel controls on my Dual double DIN stereo.
Auto: 2007 Honda CRV EX-L (w/o NAV)
Interface: CRUX SWRHN-62B
In the instructions it states (verbatim):
"For aftermarket radios that have wires for SWC connections cut off the 3.5 mm plug on the crux SWC cable and connect the SWC wires as follows RED to SWC key 1 WHITE to SWC key 2 shield to SWC ground."
I am referencing the following video:
(time in video:10:37)
The video states that the pink wire is SWC and the brown is ground.
I have purchased ALL THE COMPONENTS in the description.
Question: attaching the red to pink and the white left alone, and the black grounded, i still cannot get the SWC to work with the radio. Everything else operates as described even the backup camera installed.... any help would be greatly appreciated
What is SWC 1 in the factory harness?
What is SWC key 2 in the factory harness?
For your 2007 CR-V EX-L, the pink wire is at factory Connector B, terminal no. 7 which is connected to the aftermarket head unit's SWC Key 1 wire. The Honda CR-V's SWC ground wire (Brn at Connector B, terminal no. 6) is connected to the aftermarket's ground wire for SWC (this is not the same wire as SWC Key 2).
SWC Key 2 is probably left unconnected, since the CR-V only uses one control wire (i.e., the Pink wire) and a ground (Brn wire). Some cars have two control wires and the source ground.
