Default Sale went bad, your feedback - ITR related!

A set of used ITR tires (re010) was posted up by me, about 3 weeks ago. They had about 50% tread left, and were in good condition...no damage to them (like nails, etc), no uneven wear. Was asking $75 pickup, would ship. (priced to go very fast)

Immediately i get 3 offers, one of them local. We talk about 2-3 times then arrange a local pick up over here. I told him i'd meet him half way, but that would mean he would incur some tolls, gas, etc for driving. He lives in NYC, I live in NY State.

While he picked up the tires, I let him look at the merchandise. I even urged him to check the tires out. He said they were good, so i helped him load it into his trunk. Before he gave me $75, he wanted to know if I'd take less than $75. (This is when the tires are already in his car). I said no, and took the $75 he handed me and left.

Now he IM's me constantly. He claims one of the tires has massive camber wear, and that he is EXTREMELY unhappy. I tell him that I didnt see any wear, but if he was unhappy, i'd refund his cash.

He said, no, b/c he would have to pay tolls and gas again. I told him, ok. I'll come to where he lives. Up to his door step to pick up. (said this to prove a point). Then he says "then you'd have to return like $95 to me cuz of the tolls and gas, so i'll just keep the tires"

Needless to say, i'd say 80% of my transactions through h-t classified have gone wrong. This is one of them. He keeps IM'ing me, telling me to look at pictures that I can't open. (error in link).

What do you guys think I should do about this guy? He seems to have buyers remorse.

He saw what he was buying, and paid for it. He's definately lying about the tread wear. Buyer's remorse. Tell him to jump off a cliff.

That's unfortunate, on his part. He had the opportunity to inspect them before he picked them up, he neglected to do so.

Life's a bitch, then you marry one.

Hopefully he'll learn.

You offered to make the deal right again by taking back the tires and refunding his money, YOU did right, HE said no....Deal is done.

All sort of IDIOTS out there. He inspected the merchandise so why complain now.
What pissed me off even more is like now with some items which i am ready to buy
and sellers backs out by not responding till weeks later.

wow, pretty strong feedback. Yeah b2finity, I'm also wondering if he posts, what it will be about.

If you guys thought this was wild... you should have been here when I had the group buy on HID's.

Also, when i tried to buy a brand new turbo kit from someone in MN.

The guy inspected it before he paid. I don't see what the problem is.

If he looked at each one of the tires before he bought them, there should be no doubt. He knew what he was buying. There is NO way you should have to refund his money, let alone drive all that way to do it.

Holy Jesus, tolls are that pricy up in New York? Man, that's nuts!

Anyway, I think Soup **** is in the right here. $75 is a ******' steal. I could see there being issues if this was all done through the mail, but he saw the tires IN PERSON before he gave the money... So... He's an idiot.

I think you have done everything reasonably. You should incorporate a signed document for each transaction in case of litigation.

Tell the guy to pack sand!

Although, unless I misread your post, you stated that 80% of your H-T classified transactions have gone poorly. Why is this? I find that an awfully high number. Are there realy that many donkeys on this board?

Wow, and your willing to drive to his doorstep to return his money back and wants more $, I say he's BSn you. In any circumstance, the buyer should aways check the merchandice. Hell, its like saying you go to the underwear store and made sure you don't pick out high gloss puke green underwear.

I don't know, but it sound like he's got nothing else to do and he's stalking you cause he's bored or something. Or maybe he likes you alot , just kidding.

Most of my transcation over the net have been great through the years. Havn't encounter a problem yet. So I guess I"m lucky so far.

But in all, you did your part to satify him. I say let it be.
