Im planning on going to the local junkers to grab a kseries engine. Have never owned anything new enough to have a digital odometer and wouldn’t mind knowing the mileage.

I was curious if it is easy as taking a 12V battery and finding the correct 12V input/ground on the cluster.

Not sure what years/models I will find, hopefully a TSX 04-08, but might settle on another K24.

Just connect the battery to the original terminals, remove the ignition switch from the key cylinder and turn to the on position.

 

I could do that. I was hoping to just power the cluster as most harnesses are cut up there and i won’t be using a full size car battery (can’t bring own parts in)

 

You can use any 12-20v battery for temporary power. Look up the wiring diagram for the cluster you're trying to use.
