So I got this accord for free someone had given it to me and the previous owner put a head gasket on it and put it on upside down…. So I went through and did a head gasket kit and fixed the car and the whole time it had an engine light but I never checked it because I knew it was leaking oil really bad and thought that would’ve been the code but after it was complete it still had the engine light so I checked it and it was “ VTEC oil pressure switch” code .. I order a oil pressure switch and replaced it was fine until I went over 4k rpm then through another code so I then went and checked it and it was code “p1259” Vtec system malfunction and it had a random misfire code…. I then ordered a new Vtec solenoid and just got done replacing it and same as last time everything was fine until I went to 4k rpm and it through another code same “p1259” and random misfire … now mind you the car runs amazing without the code but when the code comes on after clearing it the car seems to fall on its face when letting off the throttle and also has a miss when under 2k Rpm’s like it jerks until you get it above 2k … if anyone has had similar issues or knows anything about this please spill the beans because I’m clueless .. I’m leaning towards bad pcu possibly just throwing random codes and making the car misfire but don’t want to keep dumping money if it’s not the issue ..
