This is my first time in the Honda-Tech forum hopefully we can help each other in the future! Getting straight into it, I have a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid that I'm replacing the head gasket. I've been having some heating issues that I can address later if anyone wants to know. The problem that I'm having is when i pulled the head off i set on my under the car creeper. I flipped the head so that the valve side was facing upwards. As I was checking for any crack or damage to the headgasket ( which I didn't) I flipped the head back the other way (with the cams facing upwards now) 2 round washers or spaces came out? They are 1in wide and 1/2 tall with the center cut out. Its a dark brown so i'm assuming it was near where all the valves and camshaft is but I cant figure out where it could go? using AllData and honda parts website I cant seem to even figure out what it is. I will include the picture of what it is so maybe someone can help me out identifying what it is and where it should go. Thank you hope someone can help. PS I was doing this 9 at night here in Kelso Washington ( Super cold and dark) so maybe I'm not seeing the obvious with a headlamp? Will keep this thread updated.
These are the washer spacer the came where the camshaft is placed around that area. Underneath the camshaft they are 2 circle divits that I'm assuming thats where they go but who knows
