Icon5 What is the value of an ITR race engine?

Hey everyone,

I have a spare ITR motor that someone is interested in buying. I don't know what kind of price to ask so I was hoping for some input.

- Crate B18C5 long block purchased from Honda
- Balanced, blueprinted by Hytech Exhaust
- Headwork by Hytech Exhaust
- Carillo rods
- Custom JE pistons.
- CTR cams
- No accessories (no alternator, sensors, intake plenum, injectors, etc.)
- Run for 1 season (10 races), then refreshed by Hytech and stored. He also used it as a jig to weld headers sometimes.
- Runs at a reliable 200 whp on the dyno. Made for reliability and endurance, not pure power. It feels super strong and smooth.

Does anyone have suggestions on what it might be worth? I'm not looking for the max price, just a fair and reasonable price.

Just my personal opinion, the value would be around what a stock B18C5 goes for. The value of it is preserved because it is a B18C5, and not because it is built. Since it is a seller's market, start high and see how it goes. There are a lot of people searching for USDM B18C5s no matter stock or not.

I was thinking starting off at $7k.

Donate it to someone in need, you don't need the cash

I probably wouldn't take less than $7k. Sounds like a gem of a motor with very little run time/mileage, and Type R motors are very hard to come by these days. If I had the cash, I'd pay that much for the motor.

I'd start closer to $8500-9 anticipating dropping down to $7-8k.

This is very interesting. My original naive thinking was that the price would be a lot lower.
