Hi,
I need help getting to the thermostat on a 2006 V6 Accord. I have the intake off but there is a wiring harness in the way. I watched a video from Eric the Car Guy but it's on an Acura and there's a bolt on that one that's not present on mine, so it's obviously a different harness. He says there's more detail in his video on J series engine replacement but I watched it and he skips that part. I got the clip undone in the back, but the front clip there is nothing I can find to release it. The metal part that clips into the harness can be unbolted but you can't get to the bolts without unclipping it first. I'm thinking about using a hammer and large screw driver and just breaking the plastic apart until it comes loose. Starting to get very frustrated this was supposed to be a quick and easy job.
Heres a pic of the harness. In the center of the image, it's clipped into a piece that's bolted to the transmission fluid heater. There's nothing to release it anywhere. I tried prying from different angles, it's just starting to crack the plastic. Can't find any videos, nothing in the service manual.
Release the two plastic harness clamps (A) (gently pry the plastic tab out with a screwdriver and lift up) then remove the bracket bolt (B). Then slide the harness off the transmission warmer bracket (circled in red).
I figured it out. Its not locked, it just needs to be pushed towards the back of the car. I had to disconnect a few more clips and connectors to get enough play for it to move.
