I have a 2022 civic si on the way and the guy said they had a shortage on materials and the interior was some kind of upgraded brown that’s not leather?? He said it’s similar to what Lexus and Audi have been doing ? I’ve never heard of Honda doing this so any info would be great …would it make it more rare in some way down the line ? And the only “brown” interior I’m seeing was from Acura and it was called espresso but I believe it was leather …this is in the US it’s a sonic grey pearl 2022 civic si …they don’t even have them at the dealer it’s being delivered

 

you are paying for a new car...dont settle. if brown interior is not what you want, then wait it out until they can get you the options you want.

only way it will be rare is if everyone throws it away when they swap to a diff color like they did to the 92-95 civic hatchback blue interior.
i like the blue interior....and took me forever to find the missing interior pieces i needed.

 

it’s not a factory option there is no factory option for si interior here it’s always red and black …shortage of materials= brown and black or red and brown si seats/interior ….thus not being a common thing but a shortage of material …even on the old ones I’ve never seen or heard of anything like that …thanks for replying also

Pretty sure all of the VXs were blue interior.

The rare ones are the wine interior sedans.

CX was blue interior on white exterior. Not sure about white or purple exterior VX but red and teal were black interior.

 

Right, you can wait for the exact car you want.
I put a $500 deposit down on a 2022 Civic EX white with tan interior because I wanted light colors since it’s gets hot a lot of times where I live. After a few months of waiting, the dealership called me and said they had a grey one ready. I told them no, I’ll wait. And about a month later the exact one I wanted showed up.
These 2022 Civics are all in high demand and low supply, so it just depends if you’re willing to wait for the exact one you want.

 

Have you taken delivery of your Si with brown interior yet? I’m a sales manager at a Honda store and I just noticed we were allocated a Crystal Black Pearl Si HPT with brown interior. I’m curious as to what it looks like. I’m not able to find anything else online mentioning the brown interior other than this thread.
