A month ago I bought a pretty old 04 Honda Civic EX Coupe alright? And other than this minor problem...It runs fine. So anyways It'll start up just fine how a honda should and then I'll drive but AFTER i accelerate and the car spools down to an Idle and during an idle for a few seconds the Engine makes a pretty loud clicking/tapping sound, kinda sounds like a fan or something turning on and then off. Im just curious if anyone might know what this is since im a young guy and have little to no experience with Car Maintenance and such. I can upload a video if anyones curious.

 

My 01 civic was doing that and it was the exhaust manifold shield. It would vibrate when I would stop at a red light until I pressed on the gas a little. Not sure if this is your issue. Hope this helps.

My civic sounds exactly like that at idle in drive especially when running the AC or Heater. Strangely enough it even does it when I turn on my headlights or High Beams. But here not there, Im pretty sure you just diagnosed my problem so kudos to you. Mine sounds pretty much exactly like that video except higher pitched and I believe its closer to the front near the engine bay.
