Default AEM Infinity 506 questions

Hi all,

I am currently putting together a build and have a few questions. Here is the setup I am building.

EK Chassis
K20K/K24 (all-motor setup)
EP3

AEM Infinity 506 ECU
AEM CD-7
Boomslang RSX harness

here are my questions…

1. I will be running AEM AFR, oil pressure and fuel pressure gauges. Can the CD-7 and 506 tap into the data from the AEM gauges?

2. The boomslang harness I am running is for a direct wire hookup from a RSX to the AEM 506. Does anyone know what other harnesses I need? My understanding is that this harness will replace all of the engine wiring directly into the ECU, but it’s not exactly clear.

thanks All!

I would have to check, but I am not aware of any complete engine harness systems being made by Boomslang Fabrication. I believe it is more likely that you have an ADAPTER harness that plugs into a stock '02-04 RSX engine harness AND the AEM 506. This would mean that you need an OE RSX harness as well. Post a pic of your harness here and we can give you more specific information about what you have.

That is an adapter harness. Will still need a complete engine harness.

Yes, an OE engine harness is still required.

Got it.

I should be able to connect the CD-7 dash to the gauges correct?

If you have the CD7, the AFR and pressure gauges are totally redundant and less useful when you can just have the data right on the dash, plus the ecu has a lambda sensor controller on board. With the dash you can also set up all kinds of warnings and alarms, which will be far more useful than a bunch of gauges.

Less weight, less complexity, more function.

As far as the harness - All jumper harnesses suck and should be avoided like the plague, especially if you've invested in a high-end ecu. Rywire, et al, can put together a harness that will plug right into ecu, chassis, and peripherals and won't give you the headaches that a jumper to an oem harness eventually will.
