I've heard of an issue specifically with the 2011 randomly accelerating while braking, or unwanted over-acceleration when starting from a stop.

Leading to accidents in many cases, obviously. Seems pretty well documented.

Funny thing is that on YT videos on CRV problems/issues many times commenters say they own a 2011, love it and never mention this random uncontrolled acceleration issue. I guess that would make sense though, because someone who had this issue either got into an accident and left Honda completely, or ditched the car etc due to being unsafe, sobthey probably wouldn't comment.

I'm starting to test drive used 3rd gens, so is it wise to stay completely away from 2011s, or is there a way to spot this issue in advance, or jow common is it?
