Default Stereo question

I know that we can install aftermarket stereo systems. But, I'm curious about installing a factory system from a more recent model. For example, I have a 1997 Accord coupe. Could I install a touchscreen head unit from a 2020? And, before I get the "just go aftermarket " lines, I'm planning on hitting a junkyard, soon. So, if I can get something that will work for dirt cheap, I'd like to. I'll go aftermarket if I have to. But, I haven't seen anyone answer this particular question. I'm sure it's been asked, though. Mahalo in advance.

Is there a plug and play touch screen unit out there waiting for you in the junk yard, No! Now, if you can make it fit and you have the wring diagrams from both vehicles anything is possible. Wire cutters, a couple wire connectors and your good to go! One of those universal aftermarket stereo adapters for your 1997 Accord probably wouldn't hurt. That is if you are worried about cutting up the factory wire harness.

Thank you. So, if I wanted to use something newer factory, I'm basically treating it as any other "mod" like using an iPad or tablet.
