Default Wanting to turbo my ek nz new civic

I guys I am just wondering what ecu I need to run to turbo my 1996 ek civic nz new. I currently have have a p2m ecu is this able to get chipped or will I have to get a p28 ecu? And would a p28 ecu plug straight in or will I have to change some stuff and if so what would I have to change?

Also I think AEM makes computer that is plug and play but I just checked their website really quickly, and it said 99-00 Civic, but I’m in a rush now so I haven’t looked into it thoroughly.

If using the AEM EMS part number 30-6050 which is for the 99&00 Civic, you could use this harness:

which is designed for an OBD2a car and an OBD2d ECU
It not 100% sure it will work but it seems like it should based on the description. Can someone confirm this? Or contact them.

I’ve used OBD1 ECUs in the past and they’ve worked, so you could use the conversion harness I posted above and an OBD1 ECU with something such as Hondata, and I’m pretty much 100% sure that will work. It’s recommended all of the time.

One thing to note is that these OBD1 ECUs are getting old now and sometimes they malfunction so if you can afford it, look into AEM.
