I was just going over the changes for this season..... Well, other than the cars being new... everything else is pretty much staying the same. Mercedes will be able to buy their way to another constructors with the use of another 11 "Dialed up to the max" engines. Only to loose the WDC vs the Honda Powered RBR once again.

I keep reading that RB will keep using Honda power plants until 2025 and maintain the "Honda" name so that RB can enjoy certain considerations as a new supplier at that time.

Nothing official from Honda, RB, or F1 with sufficient explanation though.

Yes, Red Bull Powertrains Ltd. will continue development of the current Hybrid Honda F1 powerplants, with help from Honda Japan engineers, for both RBR and Scuderia AlphaTauri until the current engine development freeze is over in 2025. After that, one can can only assume that RBP Ltd. would be supplying their own engines, based off of the technologies that they are currently developing in house. Who knows, by then Honda may decide that they like the direction F1 is taking and join back in with some financial backing.

This new circumstance is different than RB taking on Honda's PU you list. The scuttlebutt is that Honda will remain in F1 until 2025 and will maintain their brand on the car. RB Powertrains won't take on development until 2025 so they can enjoy certain considerations afforded new powertrain manufacturers. I guess we'll see.

Watching the RB18 launch now and noticing that the car doesn't have any Honda branding on it (except for an "HRC" logo) or on the driver shirts.

Confused as to why there is no Honda branding. Very curious that it's gone after finally fielding a championship contender

I love that Livery, best looking car on the grid IMO. I do miss the big H on her though. Glad I got all my RBR Honda team gear last year.

Honda stated back in 2020 that it was to pull it's funding from F1 period. You will no longer see the big "H" on the RBR or AlphaTauri livery. However, as I stated, the deal with RBR and Honda has a few engineers from Honda Japan staying on with the newly formed RBPowertrain Ltd. team to aid with the Honda PU until 2025. So I guess they are RB employees, don't know if you'll even see them wearing Honda shirts in the garage like they used to.

Edit.. So after todays announcement it is now ORBR - Oracle Red Bull Racing - Someone has to pay the bills I guess.

The "H" on the nose made it look like a pig.

New regs are for them to use 18" rims and tires. The covers are supposed to help with drag reduction. Although the engineers are saying that they are adding a bunch of weight to the chassis. I haven't seen any numbers posted as to the gains or losses ether way. I'm sure it will be a much bumpier ride this season with the lower profile tires. Boys won't be as willing to cheat the sausage curbs this year...lol

Again, the newest info is a bit different than what Honda and RB had planned when the original pull out was announced.

Here's what I'm talking about: https://us.motorsport.com/f1/news/ho...-2025/7677146/

This, all of this

As was previously said, I'd really like to see the FIA change the rules regarding 2nd, 3rd and 11th engines, I feel like the penalties should get tougher, not less

Rules currently state that "Drivers" are permitted three ICE, MGU-H, and TC and two ES, CE and MGU-K units during the course of a season, but any combination of parts can be fitted to the car. If a driver exceeds this limit, they are given a grid penalty.

It is crazy that they get a 10 place grid penalty for the 4th ICE, but then the 5th, 6th and 7th are only 5 grid. Not only that, they don't loose any constructors points at all. I think the reliability of your complete PU should be held to account for the constructors more than the drivers.
