hey guys so i recently replaced my alternator and when ever i take the key off the switch the. battery light stays on or just turning it off keeps the battery light on but when i turn it on no battery light while the car is running please help

 

With the key turned into the Run position but engine off, the battery light should be illuminated. When the engine is running, the battery light should be off.

 

i dont think i explained my self all the way correctly so even if the key is off the switch to turn it the car on the battery light stays on regardless with the key off when the key is in it still stays until i turn it on now im trying to find the problem because i changed the alternator recently and i saw the battery light just not turn off with the key off the switch because i took it to work like that came out and the battery was dead needed a jump so i dont know if its a ground or something or might just need to get another alternator

 

The battery light has two fuses before it reaches the ignition switch. Past the ignition switch, power if fed to the ignition switch then to the voltage regulator in the alternator. Either the voltage regulator is bad or the ignition switch is not disconnecting. I would start by testing the ignition switch. If you don't have a copy of the CRX workshop manual, I would download a copy and follow the process of testing the switch.
