Last July, I had a mechanic that I've never gone to before, but who was recommended by two co-workers, replace my power steering rack with OEM rack & outer tire rods. During the install he said p/s pressure switch needed to be replaced, which he did with an aftermarket switch. Everything seemed to be going well, but I recently noticed I'm loosing power steering fluid. When I brought the car back in for him to check, he told me that the aftermarket p/s pressure switch was leaking and needed to be replaced.

That said, what kind of warranty, if any; either for the switch and/or for labor would you expect in a situation like this?

 

I would hope it would be 100% covered by them. Their part, their labor, their fail. But shops are shops and hard to say. Just ask them what they will do for you being it was all recent and all done by them and wasn't leaking before.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, but when I asked him what the damage (cost) to me would be, he started talking about how much he could find the part for, so I’ll have to double check with him.
