Weird 94 Accord stalling issue
Hello all, I am buying my girlfriends old 94 accord off her parents (automatic). The thing drives great and is in great shape all things considered. However, a few months ago it would stalled out on my girlfriend. She waited 15 minutes and then it started right back up. Didn’t happen again for a while so we chalked it up to her doing something weird (she’s been driving a newer Camry for a while and isn’t the most technically minded when it comes to cars). Fast forward a month or 2 and it did the exact same thing to her mom. They decided to take it into the shop and from what I was told the shop checked alternator, battery, and fuel pump and found nothing wrong with it. The tech couldn’t replicate the problem either. They take the car home and what do you know? It does it again on the way home. Since then, I’ve driven it quite a bit and can’t get it to die, so unfortunately I don’t have too much to go off of. I don’t have the car yet, so I am trying to think of what to do as soon as I get it. Thank you guys for your time and help!
EDIT:
Should have added this to begin with but as of now I’m going to throw a new distributor and ignition switch at it as I’ve heard these are possible culprits and it wouldn’t hurt in any case. I’d imagine that the ignition switch has been replaced due to the recall as I was told her grandparents took immaculate car of it, but they don’t have the service records so I cannot verify that. Thank you all again!
