CR-V Remote central locking problem
Hi all, I'm in the UK and just found this site so I brought my CR-V problem with me. I have the 2008 mk3 CR-V and it runs great, passed MOT 1 month ago with no faults and no advisories.
My problem is with the remote central locking. To lock or unlock the car with the remote I have to walk round it two or three or sometimes five times , pressing the relevant button on the remote until eventually
the locks open and the alarm switches off .Sometimes get a bit of hesitancy from the immobiliser and then no problems till its time to lock up when it's time to walk round again till the locks activate.
I took it to the local main Honda dealer for a £100 diagnostic testing. Their diagnosis with all their equipment was " intermittent central locking fault:, £100 please. The fault has been ther for the entire 2 days that they had it and they can't find the problem so they come up with intermittent central locking fault: Honda main dealer is the end of the line for me, there's no better place to go than the representative of the people who made the car, yet they expect me to pay my money and take it somewhere else, where ?, who can sort it if the main dealer with all the equipment can't. Any ideas re the problem would be greatly appreciated
Regards Mick

I didn't fix it. Had a bit of a row with the service manager and although his test equipment showed nothing, he had an idea about the immobiliser control unit and he offered to keep it a few days and follow his hunch with no labour charge. He fitted a new immobiliser control unit and it sorted everything good as new. Seems the remote locking and immobiliser is all part of the Thatcham security package and a problem with one part will affect other parts that don't seem related.. A further £200 for the part and friends all round.
