D16y7 non vtec Turbo help!
So, I’ve been looking all over the place and I haven’t seen anyone actually explain what I would have to do with the ecu. Is it really as easy as getting the hondata chip ecu bundle and installing it. Would that even work since it isn’t a vtec?
And ask them about purchasing a Hondata and ECU. They can set up a base map on the ECU so you can drive around and usually dont need it tuned on a dyno. But it is recommended to have a tuner check the parameters and make sure everything's running good.
Since you're application is non-VTEC, you can use most of the OBD1 ECUs (P06, P28, P30, P72, P74, P75), regardless of whether it is a VTEC or Non-VTEC ECU. If you used a VTEC ECU (like the P28), you would simply disable VTEC in the Hondata S300 settings.
I recommend sending your ECU directly to Hondata and having them do the installation. Pay the extra money to have boost control added and the reliability upgrade (capacitor replacement) performed. Note that on the form, the prices listed do not include the S300, but you can purchase one at the same time and have them install it. The form you'll need to complete is here: https://www.hondata.com/downloads/ec...eting_form.pdf
