2000 Accord Rear Windshield moulding - is this right?
I have been dealing with a bad install of a rear windshield and they came out to replace it. The moulding that the guy was installing was too tight so he cut it. He said its just decorative and the adhesive sealant bead that he had placed down around the window before installing was all that was needed to keep it from leaking. Can someone confirm this?
The Honda is a daily driver so its not in primo shape but I wonder if I should be complaining about this or not.
The cut portion of the moulding is at the top, will this cause issues?
Here is a driver side view towards the base of the windshield
and the moulding overlaps towards the base on the driver side

That gap will collect trash and should have been installed at the bottom edge of the glass.
The rest of the trim install looks careless.
Probably won't leak into thw cabin but I would be concerned about water running under that trim from the gap at the top and rusting out the window frame.
The official part from Honda is about $37 and is readily available.
That Pilkington glass usually fits like crap so the factory rubber trim might still be an issue. Also a very soft easy to scratch glass.
