Intermittent speedometer
Hello Honda techs!
I have a 2006 Civic DX, automatic transmission, 80k miles. The speedometer works for the first 5-10 minutes of driving, then the needle drops to zero. The OBD scanner reflects correctly for the VSS in live scanning mode, even if the speedometer needle dropped to zero mph. I'm curious as to the cause.
Thank you!

Thank you!
Failed solder joint in the cluster would be my vote.
Second most likely cause would be the driver/motor that moves the needle has gone bad.
Easy fix, junk yard replacement cluster.
