Need help with trans info!!
So I have a 1995 del sol and it’s a b16a3 dohc vtec, i’m in need of a trans and i’ve never had to deal with a transmission before so i know little to nothing. i’m under the impression that i’ll need a y21 trans, is that right? please please correct me if i’m wrong, but if so where could i find something like this? i’ve had 0 luck, i really don’t want to but i’ve been told i could even take one from an integra or a specific kind of civic. please help!

Looks like both the case and bellhousing are broken. How handy are you / how much does the thought of rebuilding a transmission yourself scare you? If you aren't too sure about doing the work yourself, just try to source a new complete transmission. You may be able to recoup some costs by selling the broken one for parts.
Yes, if you want an exact match, you'll be looking for a Y21 transmission.
As stated by jdblock, any B-series hydraulic transmission would work - you just may end up with slightly different gearing. Just make sure you get a hydro / hydraulic transmission and not a cable transmission. The difference is in how the clutch fork is activated by the clutch pedal. The LS transmission is probably the least expensive and most readily available but will have longer gears. The GSR transmission has shorter gears than the LS, but still longer than your Del Sol VTEC transmission. The US version of the Integra Type R transmission has the same gear ratios as your Del Sol VTEC. I think I've seen some LS transmissions go for about $600 recently...an ITR transmission may cost you over $2,000.

People are hoarding these parts, or buying them and reselling them for profit. They are not easy to find any more.
I would start by pulling the transmission and splitting the case, so you can look at the gears.
There are a couple transmission build guides you can look at to get an idea what you're getting into.

A good tech that knows the B series trans can definitely take it apart and inspect the internals for you. My trans guy in the link is a expert and deals with these trans and rebuilding them all day, give him a holler if your close by or want to ship it to him.
Tell him Zee sent you and he will so hook you up!
