Electrical System
Hello, this is my first ever post here so if I do something wrong I apologize, but here we go. I have a 91 dx sedan, and yesterday when I put the battery in the car (I take it out so if anyone tries to steal the car they can't easily) there was no effect. Nothing in the car was powered or working except for the emergency lights. The emergency lights would react to input on the button and light up nothing else would, however. NO dash lights, interior lights, brake lights, obviously car would also not start. The battery is good I ran it in a different car, i checked to make sure the connectors are alright and they showed 12.8 volts when car is not running. I really am a noobie when it comes to DIY and have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to electrical systems. From what I could find on this site people with issues similar to mine have ground, main relay, fuses or ignition systems that cause this. I could not find a post where the issue is exactly like mine. If you guys have any ideas or recommended ways about dealing with this I will highly appreciate your inputs. Thanks for your attention
My guess is your battery fuse is probably toast. It could be caused by the wrong polarity when you reconnect the battery. Check the battery fuse that’s located in the engine bay. Mine is a 60 amp. Local auto parts stores carry it for 15-20 bucks.
