I know what the code is, how to fix it and how to possibly fool the PCM. I don’t want to do any of that. This is a 2009 Odyssey EXL with 275K miles. All I want to know is what may be the consequences if I continue to drive it the way it is. What do you say?

With the year and mileage of the vehicle, I wouldn't do much to fix it. There shouldn't be any significant detrimental effect with not fixing it if you don't have emission testing requirement where you reside.

There are ways (e.g., inexpensive device) to make that specific code go away, that way you will still get warnings if other different trouble codes trigger the CEL.

I have heard of putting a spark plug nonfoulers between O2 sensor and the cat. Are there other ways to make the code go away?

The defouler is the easiest and least expensive way. Not sure if anyone makes a compatible electrical
simulator for Hondas anymore. For Toyota,
they have them.

I may try the defouler. If it works I will install a VCM muzzler to turn off VCM. I believe it will extend the life of the vehicle somewhat.
