1989 Carbuerated Civic EF Automatic dies after driving for a while then won't start
So I have a 1989 civic ef auto with a carb. I have changed every single thing in this car from a carb rebuild to a new steering rack, essentially what is a full restore. My carb works fine , doesnt seem to run rich or lean , idle is stable , power delivery is smooth, works great.
But recently Ive been met with a certain issue twice now. I drive for a few hours , and then the car just dies , battery works , fuel pump works , ground wires are good , ignition switch is good , main relay is good too. The car will die , all the lights ,aircon , radio will work, The engine cranks but wont start. Once I leave it for a while sitting it will start right up again normally. It is such an odd situation because ive taken it to the mechanic theyve checked my dizzy , my alt ,and my ignition switch.
Heres a video link to the issue.
